Hello! I am very excited to be working on a new series combining two of my favorite subjects - Ballet and Outer Space! I have been planning this for quite awhile. I first sketched out a similar idea nearly five years ago with my FestivAll project. As many of you know I have been fortunate enough to work with the wonderfully talented dancers of The Charleston Ballet. I love the original images captured and will continue to work on a version of the series unaltered. However I wanted to take it all one step further and began working with real NASA images.
I will write more about the images and the process shortly and if I receive positive feedback I may print a limited edition, available for sale with part of the proceeds going to The Charleston Ballet.
This is the first of the series. I feel very positive, it’s a perfect fit. As I do not own a spaceship or have access to the Chandra X-ray Observatory (blue), the Hubble Space Telescope (gold and brown), and the Spitzer Space Telescope (red), I say thank you, thank you, thank you to NASA/CXC/SAO/JPL-Caltech/STScI and of course The Charleston Ballet.
Please contact me here or by private message if you are interested in this project!
